Who we are
It all started with my love for animals. As a young girl I had dreams of becoming a veterinarian but those dreams quickly changed when my first dog was in an accident. I watched her suffer and right then and there I realized that I wasn't cut out for the hard things veterinarians go through. I applaud them for being the ones who take on the good, the bad and all the things in between! From the bottom of my heart thank you to all the veterinarians taking care of our fur baby families!
Now, how did we get to where we are now?? In short, two standard poodles named Dutchess and Royalty!
Through my photography business, I was contacted by a breeder here in the PNW who was looking for someone to do photos of her puppies , possibly in exchange for an adorable puppy! I wasn't in the market for a puppy, nor was I in the market for a poodle. I had never met a poodle and like most people when you think poodle, you think of those snobby, grouchy, high rise apartment living dogs someone is paid to walk in Central Park! But, I did some research and learned that they are so much more than that! I cant imagine never owning a standard poodle after having these two girls. I can not begin to explain it and I tell everyone, "you just have to meet them" they are not snobby and grouchy. They are the most loving, sweet social dogs I have ever owned. While getting to know Dutchess and Royalty, learning how to brush and groom them and taking them to training classes I started throwing around the idea of breeding these amazing dogs. I researched extensively. I had an amazing mentor who helped me start from the ground up. She helped educate me on health and genetic testing. She single-handedly inspired me to be the ethical breeder I am today. My motto in life and business is simple. If your not going to do it right, then why do it at all?! I live and breath this motto and I think it shows in our puppies! Our puppies are family when they are with us and they are family when they leave us. We love updates and we love following their journey!
What motivates us
There is no better feeling than when we match one of our precious puppies with their caring new owner(s). It’s why we put so much time, love and effort into making sure our puppies go to the right home. When we decided to breed, we wanted to do it right the first time. Temperament, health and genetic testing are where we start but there are many factors for us when choosing a good breeding dog. Another very important part of our breeding program is raising the puppies in home with us, as a part of our family. They hear us, see us, interact with us and our children. They are exposed to all sorts of stimuli at an early age including loud noises, new people and other animals in the house. These early exposures help socialize your puppy and set them up for success as a confident, well socialized dog. On top off this we liter box train our puppies around 3-4 weeks and eventually dog door train them, all before they go to their new homes at 8 weeks. To find out more or to reserve one of these wonderful animals, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to tell you everything you need to know.
